Regional Conference of the Association of BPS-Statistics Pensioners of Kalimantan Timur Province

Located in the Vicon Room of BPS East Kalimantan Province 1st floor, at Wednesday 9 February 2022, 09.00 am, Kemakmuran Street 04, Samarinda, a Regional Conference (Musda) of the "Association of BPS-Statistics Retirement (PPBPS) of Kalimantan Timur Province" was held for the 2017-2021 period. Previously, a Musda Preparatory Meeting had been held one month earlier with an agreement that there were three Chair Candidates who would be proposed, they are: Musahir, SE; H. Hardi R, SE; and H. Basiran Suwandi, SE, then the posters had been shared to all members of the Retirement Association. This event was attended by 36 retirees, both in Samarinda (offline) and also attended by those who are outside Samarinda, which was carried out virtually at each regency/municipality BPS office. Also present at this event, Acting Chief Statistician of Kalimantan Timur Province, Ir. Nur Wahid with all of Function Coordinators of BPS-Statistics of Kalimantan Timur Province.

The PPBPS Kalimantan Timur Province Musda event began with the official opening by Acting Chief Statistician of Kalimantan Timur Province. Then continued with the recitation of the Musda Rules of Conduct by Ir. Gunadi Irianto, continued with recitation of the Accountability Report of the 2017-2021 Executives and the explanation of the PPBPS National Conference result by H. Hardi R, SE as the old management and discussion of the work program of the Kalimantan Timur Province PPBPS Committee for the 2022-2025 period. Furthermore, the highlight of the event was the election of the new PPBPS Kalimantan Timur Province Chairman for the 2022-2025 period. Online elections are conducted by all retirees, including those in each regency/municipality. The results of the vote were 27 people (75 percent) of the members chose Musahir, SE as chairman and 9 other people (25 percent) chose H. Hardi R, SE.

What's interesting about this Musda event is that the participants were present at each of the nearest regency/municipality BPS offices and enthusiastically participated in the virtual event, the elections were also conducted simultaneously online.

Furthermore, the elected chairman is given 30 days to compile a new board for the 2022-2025 period, consisting of: Trustees, Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Head of Organization and Public Relations, Head of Business Division, and Head of Social Welfare Division. Meanwhile, for the commissariats in each regency/municipality, a committee consisting of the Trustees, Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer will be immediately inaugurated/inaugurated.
