January 30, 2024 | BPS Activities
Samarinda, (30/1) – BPS Kalimantan Timur Province participated online via Zoom in the 2023 Ubinan Productivity Figures Evaluation for Rice Tiles and Secondary Crops Subround III. This activity lasted 2 (two) days, beginning on January 30-31, 2024, with BPS Republic Indonesia (RI) acting as facilitator.
There are 21 other Provincial BPS work units whose Heads/Production Team Members participate in these activities, particularly on the first day. Some of them include BPS-Statistics Aceh Province, BPS-Statistics DKI Jakarta Province, BPS-Statistics Nusa Tenggara Barat Province, BPS-Statistics Kalimantan Selatan Province, BPS-Statistics Sulawesi Selatan Province, BPS-Statistics Maluku Utara Province, and BPS-Statistics Papua Province.
The ceremony began with a speech by Mr. Widyo Pura Buana, S.Si, MMG, MT, Head of the BPS-Statistics' Food Crop Statistics Team, on the evaluation and monitoring of progress in KSA and Ubinan of Rice Tiles and Secondary Crops Subround III 2023. Continue to the main event, where participants are divided into dedicated Zoom breakout rooms. The main event begins with the facilitator confirming the ubinan result of rice commodities (lowland rice and field rice) and secondary crops commodities (corn, soybeans, peanuts, cassava, and sweet potatoes), in each working unit. If a value needs to be reviewed and or tobe confrimed, participants are expected to provide adjustments/reasons for this matter, and the phenomena.
There’s an indication that the ubinan result of rice tiles and secondary crops produced in the Kalimantan Timur region had been increased and or decreased in comparison to the result in subround III 2022. The dominant of the drop in rice tile result was caused by drought from El Nino phenomenon, which is still prevalent in certain locations in that current time, as well as the proliferation of pests or OPT, such as stem borers. Meanwhile, the increase in commodities was mostly attributable to farmers selecting higher-quality seeds and receiving fertilizer help.
Identifying productivity result for rice and secondary crops in each region can provide a comprehensive picture of the Indonesian food crop sector, including plant condition, production volume, and farmer situation.
