Abstract

Kalimantan Timurexperienced a deflation of 0.16 percent in June, or a decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 151.13 in May 2007 to 150.89 in June 2007. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-June 2007) Kalimantan Timur only reached 1.92 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (June 2007 to June 2006) reached 3.89 percent.

Samarinda City experienced deflation of 0.38 percent and Balikpapan City experienced inflation of 0.11 percent. Thus for these two cities the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-June) has reached 2.25 and 1.20 percent, respectively. While the year on year inflation rate (June 2006-June 2007) reached 5.39 and 2.20 percent, respectively.
