Abstract

Kalimantan Timur experienced 0.52 percent inflation in October, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 157.99 in September 2007 to 158.81 in October 2007. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-October 2007) Kalimantan Timur reached 7.10 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (October 2007 to October 2006) reached 7.67 percent.

Samarinda City experienced inflation of 0.93 percent and Balikpapan City experienced inflation of 0.05 percent. Thus for these two cities, the inflation rate for calendar year 2007 (January-October) has reached 8.19 and 5.84 percent, respectively. While the inflation rate year on year (October 2006-October 2007) reached 8.29 and 6.94 percent, respectively.
