Abstract

Kalimantan Timur in March 2009 experienced inflation of 0.30 percent, or there was an Increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 117.20 in February 2009 to 117.54 in March 2009. With this inflation rate, the inflation rate for the calendar year 2009 (Jaruari-March 2009) East Kalimantan has reached 0.79 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (March 2009 to March 2008) reached 9.39 percent.

Kota Samarinda, Balikpapan, and Tarakan each experienced inflation of 0.31; 0.35 and 0.08 percent Thus for these three cities the inflation rate for the calendar year 2009 (January-March 2009) has reached 1.49; 0.03 and 0.53 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (March 2009-March 2008) respectively reached 10.52; 7.29 and 11.69 percent.
