Abstract

Kalimantan Timur in May 201 2 experienced a deflation of -0.1 percent, or there was a change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 141.76 in April 2011 to 141.57 in May 2012. So that until May 2012 calendar year inflation reached 2.01 percent, while year on year inflation in Kalimantan Timur reached 5.49 percent.

When broken down by city, in May 2012 Samarinda and Tarakan experienced deflation of -0.26 percent and -0.23 percent respectively while Balikpapan experienced inflation of 0.04 percent. So that the calendar year inflation in Samarinda City reached 1.61 percent, Balikpapan City 2.70 percent and Tarakan City 1.41 percent, and year-on-year inflation for each city was 4.92 percent; 5.99 percent; and 6.03 percent
