March 2019: Percentage of Poor Population in Kalimantan Timur is at 5.94 percent

Abstract

The number of poor people in Kalimantan Timur in March 2019 was 219.92 thousand (5.94 percent). In September 2018 there were 222.39 thousand (6.06 percent), which meant that the absolute number of poor people was reduced by 2.47 thousand people (down 0.12 percentage points).
During September 2018 until March 2019, the poverty line (GK) rose by 1.83 percent, from Rp.598,200 - per capita per month in September 2018 to Rp.609,155, - per capita per month in March 2019.
In the period September 2018 until March 2019, the Poverty Depth Index rose from 0.764 in the September 2018 to 0.910 in the March 2019 condition. The Poverty Severity Index also rose from 0.148 to 0.210 in the same period.
As of March 2019, the level of inequality of population expenditure measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.330. This number is smaller than the September 2018 Gini Ratio (0.342).
As of March 2019, the distribution of expenditure for the lowest 40 percent of the population is 20.24 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the low level of inequality category.
