Human Development Index (HDI) of Kalimantan Timur 2020 was 76.24, decreased 0.37 points compared to the previous year's figure.

Abstract

The performance of human development in Kalimantan Timur this year has decreased, which is indicated by a change in the value of the Human Development Index (HDI). During the 2010-2019 period, Kalimantan Timur HDI have consistently increased, but in 2020 it has decreased. The HDI figure in 2020 fell 0.37 points to 76.24 from the previous 76.61 in 2019.

The progress of human development in Kalimantan Timur in 2020 is experiencing obstacles. It is marked by a decrease in the HDI figure of 0.48 percent, after previously growing positively by 1.03 percent in 2019.

In 2020, the status of human development in KalimantanTimur will be at the “High” level or category. This status is still the same as the status in the previous year.

Negative growth occurred in the Adjusted Per Capita Expenditure component, while the other components, namely Life Expectancy (UHH), Expectation for Long Schools (HLS), Average Length of Schooling (RLS) still grew positively. The achievement values of UHH, HLS, RLS and per capita expenditure are 74.33 years, 13.72 years, 9.77 years, and 11.73 million rupiah per year, respectively.

The decline in HDI rates occurred in all Regency/ Municipality in Kalimantan Timur.
