The Gini Ratio in September 2021 was recorded at 0.331

Abstract

In September 2021, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of Kalimantan Timur as measured by the Gini Ratio is 0.331. This figure decreased by 0.003 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.334 and decreased by 0.004 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.335.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.337, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.339 and the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.330.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.281, down from the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.288 and the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.286.
  • Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent of the population is 20.62 percent. This means that the distribution of population expenditure in September 2021 is in the category of low inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 20.18 and for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 23.34 percent, which means that it belongs to the category of low inequality.
