Abstract

The number of labor force in Kalimantan Timur Province in February 2024 amounted to 2,009,517 people, representing an increase of 77,487 people compared to February 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate rose by 0.65 percentage points.

The unemployment rate in Kalimantan Timur Province in February 2024 was 5.75 percent, decrease by 0.62 percentage points compared to February 2023.

The employed people in Kalimantan Timur Province is 1,893,994 people, representing an increase of 85,022 people from February 2023. The sector with the largest increase in employment was the Accommodation and Food Service Sector (30,066 people).

As many as of 1,006,349 people (53.13 percent) worked in formal activities, decrease by 0.65 percentage points compared to February 2023.

The percentage of underemployed workers increased by 0.36 percentage points, and the percentage of part-time workers increased by 2.27 percentage points compared to February 2023.
