Kalimantan Timur Province experienced a Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation of 3.29 percent in May 2024. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 3.76 percent.

Abstract

Kalimantan Timur Province experienced a year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 3.29 percent in May 2024, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.22. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 3.76 percent with a CPI of 107.56, and the lowest occurred in Penajam Paser Utara Regency at 3.06 percent with a CPI of 107.68.
The y-on-y inflation was due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indexes, namely:Food, beverages, and tobacco group: 6.92 percent, Clothing and footwear group: 1.95 percent, Housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group: 0.61 percent, Health group: 4.82 percent, Transportation group: 4.22 percent, Recreation, sports, and culture group: 1.38 percent, Education group: 1.03 percent, Food and beverage/restaurant supply group: 1.16 percent, Personal care and other services group: 3.73 percent
On the other hand, there were two expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in their indexes, namely: Household equipment, appliances, and routine maintenance group: -0.36 percent, Information, communication, and financial services group: -0.32 percent
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate for May 2024 was 0.19 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate for May 2024 was 1.75 percent.

November 2024 Year On Year (Y-O-Y) Inflation In Kalimantan Timur Province Was 1.54 Percent. The Highest Inflation Occurred In Berau Regency At 3.14 Percent.
