December 2024 Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in Kalimantan Timur Province was 1.47 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 2.69 percent.

Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in December 2024 was 1.47 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.93. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 2.69 percent with a CPI of 107.26, while the lowest occurred in Balikpapan Municipality at 1.11 percent with a CPI of 107.16.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 2.64 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 2.12 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 0.64 percent; Health Group of 5.20 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.65 percent; Education Group of 1.71 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 1.92 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 5.67 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced a decline in the index, namely: Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 0.06 percent; Transport Group of 2.03 percent; and Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group of 0.62 percent.
On a month-to-month (m-to-m) basis, there was an increase in the price index (inflation) in December 2024 by 0.31 percent. Meanwhile, on a year-to-date (y-to-d) basis, there was an inflation of 1.47 percent in December 2024.

The Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in October 2024 was 1.75 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 3.54 percent.
