The Percentage of Poor Population in September 2024 dropped to 5.51 percent

Abstract

The percentage of poor people in September 2024 was 5.51 percent, a decrease of 0.27 percentage points compared to March 2024 and a decrease of 0.60 percentage points compared to March 2023.
The number of poor people in September 2024 was 211.88 thousand people, a decrease of 9.5 thousand people compared to March 2024 and a decrease of 19.19 thousand people compared to March 2023.
The percentage of urban poor in September 2024 was 4.41 percent, down from 4.47 percent in March 2024. Meanwhile, the percentage of rural poor in September 2024 was 8.00 percent, down from 8.76 percent in March 2024.
Compared to March 2024, the number of urban poor in September 2024 decreased by 0.3 thousand people (from 118.44 thousand people in March 2024 to 118.11 thousand people in September 2024). Meanwhile, in the same period, the number of rural poor decreased by 9.2 thousand people (from 102.90 thousand people in March 2024 to 93.69 thousand people in September 2024).
The Poverty Line in September 2024 was recorded at Rp 853,997.00/capita/month with the composition of the Food Poverty Line of Rp 604,133.00 (70.74 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of Rp249,864.00 (29.26 percent).
In September 2024, the average poor household in Kalimantan Timur Province has 5.32 household members. Thus, the average size of the Poverty Line per household is Rp 4,543,264/poor household/month.
