BPK Visit in the Framework of Data Requests

On this occasion, the Chief Statistician of Kalimantan Timur Province explained the profile of the Kalimantan Timur population in welcoming the IKN transfer. In the 2020 Population Census, the population of East Kalimantan was recorded at 3.7 million people and it is projected that in 2035 it will increase to 5.74 million people, considering migration due to the relocation of the country's capital. Furthermore, population demographics specifically in the North Penajam Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency areas were presented, including, regarding the human development index, employment numbers, inequality and poverty.
