The number of poor people in Kalimantan Timur in March 2024 was 221.34 thousand people or 5.78 percent. A decreasing of 0.33 percentage points, compared to March 2023. A person is categorized as poor when their average per capita expenditure per month is below the Poverty Line. In March 2024, the Poverty Line is IDR 833,955 per capita per month.

For information, the poverty line is a minimum expenditure value for food and non-food needs that must be met in order not to be categorized as poor. This figure also changes every year. The Poverty Line in March 2024 has increased by 5.54 percent compared to March 2023.
