Abstract

The total workforce in Kalimantan Timur in February 2008 reached 1,249,488 people, an increase of 8,067 compared to the August 2007 workforce of 1,241,421 people or a decrease of 12,289 compared to February 2006 of 1,261,777 people.

The number of unemployed people in February 2008 decreased by 7,290 people compared to the situation in August 2007, from 149,796 people in August 2007 to 142,506 people in February 2008, and decreased by 19,419 people compared to the February 2007 situation of 161,925 people.

The open unemployment rate in Kalimantan Timur in February 2008 reached 11.41 percent, a decrease compared to the situation in August 2007 (12.07 percent), as well as the situation in February 2007 (12.83 percent).
