Abstract

Kalimantan Timur experienced an inflation of 0.18 percent in April 2009, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 117.54 in March 2009 to 117.76 in April 2009. With these inflation rates, the inflation rate for the calendar year 2009 (Jaruari-April 2009) Kalimantan Timur has reached 0.97 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (April 2009 to April 2008) reached 9.24 percent.

Samarinda, Balikpapan, and Tarakan each experienced inflation of 0.25; 0.13 and 0.09 percent Thus for these three cities the inflation rate for the calendar year 2009 inflation (January-April 2009) has reached 1.75; 0.16 and 0.62 percent and the 'year on year' inflation rate (April 2009-April 2008) respectively reached 10.53; 6.99 and 11.37 percent.
