Abstract

The number of the workforce in Kalimantan Timur in August 2014 was 1,811,129, an increase of 44,799 compared to the number of the August 2013 labor force which was 1,766,330 people.

The number of people working in Kalimantan Timur in August 2014 was 1,677,466 people, an increase of 53,194 people compared to the situation in August 2013 which was 1,624,272 people.

The number of unemployed people in August 2014 decreased by 8,395 people compared to the situation in August 2013 which was recorded at 142,058 people and in August 2014 it became 133,663 people.

The level of open unemployment (TPT) in Kalimantan Timur in August 2014 reached 7.38 percent, a decrease compared to the situation in August 2013 (8.04 percent). In August 2014, the highest Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) occurred in Berau District which was 10 , 05 percent and the lowest TPT was recorded in Malinau District by 3.58 percent.

Kalimantan Timur Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in August 2014 was 64.10 percent, up compared to August 2013 which was 63.79 percent. The highest labor force participation rate (TPAK) in August 2014 was recorded in Malinau District (75.82 percent), and the lowest TPAK in Tana Tidung District (58.74 percent).
