September 2019: Percentage of poor people in Kalimantan Timur at 5.91 percent

Abstract

The number of poor people in Kalimantan Timur in September 2019 was 220.91 thousand (5.91 percent). In March 2019 there were 219.92 thousand (5.94 percent), meaning that the number of poor people had increased by an absolute 990 people (but by percentage it decreased by 0.03 percentage point).
  • During March 2019 - September 2019, the poverty line (GK) increased by 4.85 percent, from Rp.609,155 per capita per month in March 2019 to Rp.638,690 per capita per month in September 2019.
  • For the period March 2019 - September 2019, the Poverty Depth Index rose from 0.910 in the March 2019 state to 0.991 in the September 2019 state. The Poverty Severity Index also rose from 0.210 to 0.242 in the same period.
  • In September 2019, the level of inequality of population expenditure as measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.335. This figure is up by 0.005 points when compared to the March 2019 Gini Ratio.
  • In September 2019, the distribution of expenditure in the lowest 40 percent population was 20.43 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the category of low inequality.
