Abstract

Kalimantan Timur fertility has declined in the last five decades. The decrease exceeded 3 points from 5.41 to 2.18 in the long form SP2020, which means that only about 2 children were born to women during their reproductive period.

Kalimantan Timur mortality has fallen sharply in 5 decades, from 104 infant deaths in 1971 to 16 infant deaths in 2022.

Kalimantan Timur population mobility has decreased in the last decade, after the previous four decades had an increasing trend. Lifetime migration in 1971 was 5.57 percent, increasing to 36.83 percent in 2010 and decreasing in 2022 to 30.99 percent.

The prevalence of disability aged 5 years and over is 1.31 percent, lower than the national disability prevalence of 1.43 percent.

Residents with low education (maximum junior high school graduates) live more in rural areas than in urban areas.

The use of local languages for daily communication within the family and the surrounding environment is increasingly being abandoned by the younger generation.

96.24 percent of households in Kalimantan Timur live in houses that meet the requirements for building resilience.
