Abstract
The export value of Kalimantan Timur Province in November 2024 was recorded at USD 2,189.77 million, a decrease of 0.28% compared to October 2024.
The oil and gas (migas) export in November 2024 amounted to USD 262.95 million, a decrease of 14.14% compared to October 2024. In contrast, non-oil and gas exports were recorded at USD 1,926.82 million, an increase of 1.97%.
Cumulatively, the export value of Kalimantan Timur Province from January to November 2024 was USD 22,247.18 million, a decrease of 10.53% compared to the same period in 2023.
By commodity group, the largest increase in non-oil and gas export value in November 2024 compared to October 2024 occurred in the mineral fuels group, which rose by USD 32.27 million (2.10%). On the other hand, the most significant decrease in export value occurred in the inorganic chemicals group, which dropped by USD 7.4 million (20.15%).
During the January–November 2024 period, China was the main export destination with the largest share, accounting for USD 7,364.37 million (36.71%), followed by India with USD 3,144.24 million (15.68%), and the Philippines with USD 1,755.99 million (8.76%).
Throughout January–November 2024, mining products remained the primary export of Kalimantan Timur Province, contributing 73.58%. Industrial products ranked second with a 16.41% share, while oil and gas exports were in third place with a 9.85% share.
The top three ports contributing the most to the total export value of Kalimantan Timur Province in November 2024 were Balikpapan Port (USD 691.94 million), Samarinda Port (USD 513.18 million), and Bonthan Bay Port (USD 306.92 million).
The import value of Kalimantan Timur Province in November 2024 was recorded at USD 353.07 million, a decrease of 53.43% compared to October 2024.
The oil and gas import value was USD 243.89 million, a decrease of 57.22% compared to October 2024. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas imports in November 2024 were recorded at USD 109.18 million, a decrease of 41.91%.
The largest increase in non-oil and gas imports occurred in the ships, boats, and floating structures group, which rose by USD 1.26 million (11.67%). On the other hand, the most significant decrease in imports was in the machinery and mechanical appliances group and their parts, which fell by USD 57.07 million (56.77%).
In terms of contribution to total non-oil and gas imports from January to November 2024, the largest share of goods came from China, with a value of USD 443.53 million (32.41%), followed by the United States with USD 190.59 million (13.93%), and Japan with USD 98.64 million (7.21%).
By the use category of goods, in November 2024, only the consumption goods category experienced an increase, rising by 28.87%. In contrast, the raw materials/auxiliary goods and capital goods categories saw decreases of 54.44% and 40.96%, respectively.
The trade balance of Kalimantan Timur Province in November 2024 showed a surplus of USD 1,836.70 million. The non-oil and gas sector recorded a surplus of USD 1,817.64 million, while the oil and gas sector recorded a surplus of USD 19.06 million.
