The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Quarter I-2022 compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) experienced a decline in performance by -1.64 percent, and grew by 1.85 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year (y-on-y)

Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Quarter I-2022 based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached Rp. 185.40 trillion and at constant prices in 2010 reached Rp. 120.74 trillion.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Quarter I-2022 compared to Quarter I-2021 grew by 1.85 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the Financial Services and Insurance Business Field experienced the highest growth, amounting to 8.76 percent. From the expenditure side, the Gross Domestic Fixed Capital Formation Component experienced the highest growth of 3.51 percent.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Quarter I-2022 compared to the previous quarter experienced a decline of 1.64 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the decline was caused by contractions that occurred in several business fields, the business field that experienced the deepest contraction was the Administrative Business Field

Government, Defense and Mandatory Social Security by -9.93 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the decline was caused by contractions that occurred in most components of expenditure, the component with the deepest contraction was the Government Consumption Expenditure Component of -57.87.

Positive economic growth in Quarter I-2022 (y-on-y) occurred in all provinces on the island of Kalimantan. Kalimantan Timur Province gave the largest contribution, reaching 49.97 percent, with a growth of 1.85 percent.
