The Economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same quarter the previous year (y-on-y) experienced growth of 7.26 percent

Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in Quarter I-2024 reached Rp208,15 trillion and based on constant 2010 prices reached Rp139.02 trillion.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Quarter I-2024 compared to Quarter I-2023 grew by 7.26 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the .Public Administration & Defence; Compulsory Social Security Industry experienced the highest growth of 17.44 percent. In terms of expenditure, the NPISH Consumption Expenditure Component experienced the highest growth of 18.12 percent.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Quarter I-2024 compared to the previous quarter grew by 0.16 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the Electricity & Gas Indsutry experienced the highest growth of 5.06 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the NPISH Consumption Expenditure Component experienced the highest growth of 4.37 percent.

The positive economic growth in the first quarter of 2024 (y-on-y) occurred in all provinces on the island of Kalimantan. Kalimantan Timur province contributed the highest contribution to the formulation of Kalimantan's regional added value of 48.12 percent.
