Kalimantan Timur Province's economy in Quarter III-2023 compared to the same quarter the previous year (y-on-y) experienced growth of 5.29 percent.

Abstract

In the third quarter of 2023, the economy of Kalimantan Timur Province, based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current market prices, reached Rp191.60 trillion, while at constant 2010 prices, it amounted to Rp135.67 trillion.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in the third quarter of 2023 exhibited a growth rate of 5.29 percent compared to the third quarter of 2022 (year-on-year). In terms of production, the Electricity and Gas Supply sector experienced the highest growth, amounting to 16.72 percent. On the expenditure side, Government Expenditure Component saw the highest growth, standing at 34.10 percent.

Furthermore, the economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in the third quarter of 2023 grew by 1.65 percent compared to the previous quarter (quarter-on-quarter). In terms of production, the highest quarter-on-quarter growth was achieved by the Construction sector, which expanded by 5.59 percent. Meanwhile, on the expenditure side, the Government Expenditure Component saw the highest growth, reaching 9.11 percent.

Cumulatively, from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, the economy of Kalimantan Timur Province expanded by 6.34 percent (compared to the same period last year).

Positive year-on-year economic growth was observed in all provinces in the Kalimantan Island during the third quarter of 2023. Kalimantan Timur Province made the most significant contribution to the Gross Regional Domestic Product of Kalimantan Island, accounting for 45.90 percent of the total.
