Kalimantan Timur Province's Economy in Quarter II-2024 compared to Quarter II-2023 (y-on-y) experienced growth of 5.85 Percent

Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in Quarter II-2024 reached Rp215.64 trillion and based on constant 2010 prices reached Rp141.34 trillion.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Quarter II-2024 compared to Quarter II-2023 grew by 5.85 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the Public Administration & Defence; Compulsory Social Security Industry experienced the highest growth of 25.50 percent. In terms of expenditure, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component experienced the highest growth of 26.18 percent.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Quarter II-2024 compared to the previous quarter grew by 1.67 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the Public Administration & Defence; Compulsory Social Security Industry experienced the highest growth of 24.09 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component experienced the highest growth of 88.37 percent.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Semester I-2024 compared to Semester I-2023 grew by 6.54 percent (c-to-c).

The year-on-year positive economic growth in Quarter II-2024 occurred in all provinces in the Kalimantan Island. Kalimantan Timur province contributed the highest share to the regional value added of Kalimantan, accounting for 47.77 percent.
