Abstract

  •  The Gender Inequality Index (GII) of Kalimantan Timur Province in 2024 was 0.441, an increase of 0.027 points compared to the previous year
  • The decrease of gender equality in Kalimantan Timur Province was due to a decrease in achievements in the reproductive health dimension and the empowerment dimension.
  • The decrease of the reproductive health dimension was caused by a slight increase in the proportion of women aged 15–49 years who were less than 20 years old at the time of their first live birth.
  • The decrease of the empowerment dimension was caused by a decrease in the percentage of female legislative members, accompanied by an increase in the percentage of male legislative members.
  • There was an improvement in the labor market dimension, as indicated by the faster increase in women's TPAK compared to the increase in men's TPAK.
