The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Q3-2024 compared to Q3-2023 (y-on-y) experienced growth of 5.52 percent

Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Q3-2024 based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached IDR213.47 trillion and GRDP at constant 2010 prices reached IDR143.17 trillion.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Q3-2024 compared to Q3-2023 grew by 5.52 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, the Electricity and Gas Supply Business Field experienced the highest growth of 18.74 percent. From the expenditure side, the Gross Fixed Capital Formation Component (PMTB) experienced the highest growth of 9.22 percent.

The economy of Kalimantan Timur Province in Q3-2024 compared to Q2-2024 experienced a growth of 1.29 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the Financial Services and Insurance Business Field experienced the highest growth of 5.59 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Gross Fixed Capital Formation Component (PMTB) experienced the highest growth of 2.40 percent.

The cumulative economy of Kalimantan Timur from Q1-2024 to Q3-2024 compared to the cumulative Q1-2023 to Q3-2023 grew by 6.19 percent (c-to-c). Positive y-on-y economic growth in Q3-2024 occurred in all provinces on the island of Kalimantan. Kalimantan Timur Province contributed the highest contribution to the formation of regional added value in Kalimantan at 47.03 percent.
